Calorie Calculator
Calculate your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) and find out your exact caloric targets for weight loss or muscle gain using our secure, browser-based tool.
What is this tool?
The Calorie Calculator is an advanced, science-based web utility designed to help you determine your exact daily energy requirements. Whether your goal is to lose weight, build lean muscle mass, or maintain your current physique, understanding your daily caloric expenditure is the foundational step of any successful nutrition plan. This tool computes your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and multiplies it by an activity factor to give you a comprehensive Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) report upon clicking the calculate button.
We prioritize your privacy above all else. Unlike many health and fitness platforms that track, store, or transmit your sensitive biometric data to external servers, this Calorie Calculator operates 100% locally within your web browser. Your age, height, weight, and physical activity metrics never leave your device. You can perform calculations securely and privately without worrying about data harvesting, targeted advertising profiles, or cloud storage risks.

The Science & Logic Behind It
The science of human energy expenditure relies on well-established metabolic equations. This tool primarily utilizes the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation, which is widely recognized by dietitians and medical professionals as the most accurate formula for estimating resting metabolic rate in healthy individuals.
The Mifflin-St Jeor Formulas:
- For Men: BMR = (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) - (5 × age in years) + 5
- For Women: BMR = (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) - (5 × age in years) - 161
Once your BMR is determined, the calculator applies the Harris-Benedict Activity Multipliers to account for physical activity:
- Sedentary (Little or no exercise): BMR × 1.2
- Lightly Active (Light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week): BMR × 1.375
- Moderately Active (Moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week): BMR × 1.55
- Very Active (Hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week): BMR × 1.725
- Extra Active (Very hard exercise/sports & physical job): BMR × 1.9
Practical Use Cases
Knowing your daily calorie targets unlocks numerous practical applications for health, fitness, and lifestyle management:
- Sustainable Fat Loss: By calculating your TDEE and applying a controlled deficit of 15% to 20%, you can lose body fat steadily while preserving lean muscle tissue.
- Muscle Hypertrophy (Bulking): To build muscle effectively, you must consume a slight caloric surplus. This tool helps you find your maintenance level so you can add a controlled surplus of 250 to 500 calories daily.
- Weight Maintenance: If you have reached your goal physique, use this calculator to determine the exact caloric intake required to maintain your weight without unintentional fluctuations.
- Athletic Performance Planning: Endurance runners, weightlifters, and cross-training athletes can evaluate their high-activity energy demands to ensure they fuel properly before rigorous training sessions.
